Texas has been the top state to which California companies relocate when they move their entire operations. But sometimes the moves include portions of headquarters staffs, which is the case with Chevron Corporation’s recent announcement.
Chevron will move up to 800 jobs — about a quarter of its HQ staff — from the Bay Area to Houston over the next two years but will remain based in San Ramon. The jobs that will move to Texas come from organizations within Chevron dealing with information technology, advanced energy technologies and business development.
